FAQ
Nail-Free Adhesive – FAQ
Can nail-free adhesive replace expansion bolts for hanging heavy objects?
Not recommended for long-term heavy tensile loads such as wall cabinets or TV mounts. Nail-free adhesive is better suited for shear-load fixation and light to medium-weight mounting.
Does it bond well to tiles or glass?
Yes. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease. Cleaning with alcohol is recommended for best adhesion.
Can I reposition after application?
Yes. Adjustment is possible within the open time of 5–10 minutes. After that, removal will require tools.
How do I remove it after curing?
Once fully cured, mechanical removal is required. Residual adhesive can be softened with alcohol or a dedicated adhesive remover.
What surfaces are not suitable for nail-free adhesive?
Unsuitable for loose, dusty, oily surfaces, silicone-coated materials, PE/PP plastics, or constantly wet substrates.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes, if the product is weather-resistant. However, it is not recommended for long-term water immersion or high-UV exposure without protection.
How long does it take to reach full strength?
Initial cure occurs within 24–48 hours. Full strength is typically reached after about 7 days, depending on temperature and humidity.
Can it be painted over after curing?
Yes. After full curing, most nail-free adhesives can be painted over with water-based or acrylic paints.
Is nail-free adhesive safe for indoor use?
Yes. Most modern nail-free adhesives are low-VOC and odor-controlled, making them suitable for indoor environments.
How much weight can nail-free adhesive hold?
Load capacity depends on substrate type, bonded area, and application method. Larger bonding areas and shear loading significantly increase holding strength.
